Linda Isle, originally a sandbar named Shark Island, was the scene of several Hollywood productions, including scenes from “The Sands of Iwo Jima” with John Wayne, who lived right across the channel in Bayshores. Developed into Linda Isle (named after an Irvine daughter) in the 70’s, there are only 106 lots, all waterfront with private docks, some on the lagoon and the rest on the outside of the Island. Most houses are large, and many have dramatic harbor views. The only access is through the 24 hour guarded gate, and amenities include community tennis, beach and clubhouse. The location just off Pacific Coast Highway is convenient, as is water access to the harbor and the ocean.
